In “Rydlówka” manor house on 20th November 1900 a several-day wedding of Lucjan Rydel and Jadwiga Mikołajczyk took place.
It became a cultural event, subject of discussions as well as an inspiration for Wyspański’s drama play “Wesele” (eng. Wedding). The house had belonged to Włodzimierz Tetmajer. The Rydel family bought it in 1908. At the moment it houses the Museum of the Young Poland where visitors are allowed to see the inside and listen to a short story told by a tour guide. Groups are encouraged to attend a museum class where they learn about the Young Poland period, the origins and interpretation of “Wesele”, the characters and their historic models.
